The Importance of Water

Up to 60% of the human adult body is water. According to H.H. Mitchell, Journal of Biological Chemistry 158. The body loses water through breathing, sweating, and  digestion. The body also uses water in all its cells, organs, and tissues to help regulate its temperature and maintain other bodily functions, so you have to replenish the amount of water that you are losing or your body will shutdown.

There are more than 326 million trillion gallons of water on Earth. 97% of the water on Earth is salt water, while 3% is fresh water. 2% of freshwater is unavailable as of now because is either frozen in permafrost or deep underground. we can only use up to 1% of the water on earth.

Human kidneys can only make urine that is less salty than salt water. Therefore, to get rid of all the excess salt taken in by drinking seawater, you have to urinate more water than you drank. Eventually, you die of dehydration even as you become thirstier. Drinking too much seawater can also drive you crazy.

2 efforts to stabilize the water shortage are to stop make so much fast food, and to turn the water off when your not using it. These 2 thing will be very efficient because fast food uses a lot of water cutting  back with save hundreds, maybe even thousands of gallons of water. turning of water when you are not using it will save a lot of water too, but can also maybe set an example for others to do the same.

TUNDRA

tundra

The tundra is located on top of the world, the north pole. Some abiotic factors are strong winds, rainfall, short summer days, long and cold winters, soil, permafrost layer, and some biotic factor are fungi, mosses, shrubs, insects, fish, owls, foxes, wolves, hawks, and polar bears. Neighboring biomes to tundra is taiga, desert, and savanna.

It makes sense that the biomes that I stated are the tundra’s neighbors because as I said the tundra is at the top on the world and as you go into the center of the world the equator the weather get stable and stays the same but more outwards of the world the weather is more uncalm.

The effects of global warming in the Arctic, or climate change in the Arctic include rising air and water temperatures, loss of sea ice, and melting of the Greenland ice sheet with a related cold temperature anomaly, observed in recent years. This is hurting the animals and the overall life of the arctic, all the animals that have adapted to living there are in a way suffering.

Ecosystems are the interactions between the living things and the nonliving things in a place. In an ecosystems, the plants, animals, and other organisms rely on each other and on the physical environment – the soil, water, and nutrients, for example, So these biomes might share the same waters, animals migrate in and out of these biomes, and these biomes have the same plants but the plant are different from each other only because they adapt to their different environments.

First Entry: The World of Ecology

Ecology is the branch of biology that deals with the relations of organisms to one another and to their physical surroundings.

Are environment affect our daily routine because the environment can facilitate or discourage interactions among people (and the subsequent benefits of social support). For example, an inviting space with comfortable chairs and privacy can encourage a family to stay and visit with a patient.

Are daily lives affect our Eco-system because sustainable development: provides for human needs while preserving the ecosystems that produce natural resources. Humans affect regional and global environments throughout agriculture, development, and industry in ways that have an impact on the quality of natural resources, including soil, water, and the atmosphere.

I think people are not efficient at there current efforts at stabilizing the environment because if they were it wouldn’t be so out of control.
